About Adra Kusnirova
Adra Kusnirova is a fishmonger, entrepreneur and advocate for sustainable food systems. As the cofounder of Alaska Fresh Seafood, she connects consumers, chefs, and grocers with responsibly harvested wild seafood, drawing on her deep ties to Alaska’s fisheries. Passionate about transparency and traceability, she’s making waves in a male-dominated industry that’s not always easy to navigate. Before diving into the food world, Adra made a career in immigration, facilitating cultural exchanges between international students and Americans across the U.S. She’s resided in Madison, Chicago, Slovakia, Alaska, and loves being back home in Milwaukee, an amazing place to learn and grow in the food space.
Beyond her business, Adra serves as Secretary on the Board of the Waukesha County Green Team, working to advance grassroots environmental and conservation efforts. As mom to an active toddler, she’s constantly riding the exciting wave of parenthood. Any and all tips welcome! Whether advocating for sustainable seafood systems or supporting independently owned businesses, Adra is passionate about making a meaningful impact in her community and helping women entrepreneurs wherever she can along the way.
