About Glenda Mitchell

Glenda Mitchell is a mother, Midwest native, and photographer based in Milwaukee, WI. A storyteller through digital and film photography, Glenda brings recognition to the beauty of queer and Black communities, highlighting themes of otherness, queer community, Black sisterhood, and the juxtaposition of societal expectations and the true beauty of everyday people. Her work has been shown in OnMilwaukee, featured in Milwaukee Magazine, and on the cover of Our Lives Magazine and worked with notable organizations like Feeding America, City Year, UW Credit Union, Budweiser, Milwaukee Art Museum & BizStarts. Most recently, she co-curated ABUNDANCE: Through the Lens of Black Women, Milwaukee’s first all black woman photography exhibit in winter of 2024.
