About Jessie Leonard
Jessie is a native of Wisconsin and joined the Women Business Development Center in May of 2017. She has over 23 years of experience as a diversity/supplier diversity practitioner and is committed to using her skills to create access and opportunities for everyone. This includes running her own business as an independent consultant providing diverse supplier strategy, and best practices to Corporate, Non-Profit, and small business owners. Jessie has over 27 years in administrative and human resources management in both the private and non-profit sectors. She held the position of Wisconsin Director of Community Relations for Kaplan Test Prep. Jessie was the Supplier Diversity Manager at Harley-Davidson Motor Company and was responsible for both corporate community involvement and supplier diversity strategies and integration. She spent twenty-two years in the insurance industry advancing her career. She held the position of Agency Administrator and was responsible for seven District Offices throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
Jessie is a graduate of Alverno College and has a BA in Communications with a Minor in Business Management. She has obtained certifications in Project Management, Human Resource Management & the Law, and the National Minority Supplier Development Council Supplier Diversity Certificate. Additionally, Jessie has lent her support and experience as a Board Member for The Business Council, Committee Member for the Women Development Business Center, Secretary for the Automotive Industry Group, and United Way Fund Raising Committee.
All of which demonstrates her passion for inclusion and continuous professional growth and commitment in the Supplier Diversity arena and to the community at large.
