About Steph Davies

Steph Davies was born in the suburbs of Kansas City, Missouri, and currently living & working in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Davies is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of lightness, freedom & flight.

With a background in Scientific Illustration from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Steph Davies blends meticulous observation with a deep personal connection to nature, particularly through the symbolism of birds and their boundless movement in the sky.

Davies opened The Waxwing in 2012 to act as a community space featuring not just her work, but the work of hundreds of local and national artists. Connecting the community of Milwaukee to handcrafted work & the artists that create those pieces has been a great source of inspiration to Steph as she continues to develop her own work.
