About Terese Caro

Terese Caro is a seasoned banking and finance professional with over 25 years of experience spanning diverse financial institutions, from credit unions to banks. Currently, she serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Redevelopment Corporation (LRC), a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), where she has been a key leader since 2016.

Throughout her career, Ms. Caro has expertly managed a portfolio valued at over $500 million in loans and assets, acquiring a wide array of skills in New Market Tax Credit transactions, risk management, mortgage lending, underwriting, financial analysis, loan restructuring, collections, and compliance.

Prior to joining LRC, Ms. Caro held leadership roles at Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), Seaway Bank and Trust Company, and North Milwaukee State Bank. She is deeply committed to serving her community and holds several leadership positions on committees and boards, including being a committee member of the Capital Magnet Fund Loan Committee for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).

Ms. Caro is passionate about helping small businesses thrive and become self-sustaining and achieve their organizational and financial goals. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cardinal Stritch University.
