About LaToya Bates

LaToya Bates is a social entrepreneur and faith leader. LaToya believes we are each called to go where God leads and has spent her career in service to her community. LaToya is the Founding Director of Wounded Wings: Association for the Betterment of Women and Girls, a social service organization. She owns Lauryn Wynter Company, an event management group that plans corporate and social events, like the Whitefish Bay Farmers Markets. LaToya founded the Emmanualle Institute which supports homeschool families and provides educational resources. Through her work with the Women Entrepreneurs’ Network, LaToya and her team focus on meeting the diverse business needs of marginalized groups, promoting entrepreneurship within diverse and oppressed communities. She and her family started Emerald Farms and Agriculture to fight food insecurity in Wisconsin and support urban and disadvantaged farmers.

LaToya is a graduate of Alverno College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Management and a Master’s of Education with an emphasis on Organizational Development. LaToya’s studies include the Master of Arts in Counseling program at Lakeland College, and she earned a Master’s in Pastoral Studies at Cardinal Stritch University. She and her family live in Dodge County.
